Rockies Basketball, one of Colorado's leading girls club basketball teams, recently played in the USJN Premier Showcase Midwest in Cincinnati, OH from July 5th-8th.   Rockies sent three teams to compete:  17U Black, 17U Silver and 15U Silver.

"This is one of the toughest tournaments we've seen in some time. The competition level of the event was better than many other events. Not one mismatch in 5 games! The United States Junior Nationals should be proud of the talent they've assembled. No pretenders in this event," shares Johnnie Bratton, President of Boulder Rockies Basketball.   

The Rockies 17U Black team's tough play ended in 5-2 record, allowing an average of 37.5 points a game and only one visit to the dentist. In Pool play their only loss was to the Pennsylvania Comets by 2-points.  

The Rockies squad includes Peyton Carter, Shelby Megyeri, Kira Emsbo, Camilla Emsbo, Jade Odom, Chloe Welch, Jasmine Jeffcoat, and Emma List.

"I am proud to be associated with such a scrappy and determined group of young ladies. Would not trade any of them for any other players on the planet," shares Bratton describing Rockies 17U Black Team.

The tournament ended with two Rockies players chosen as part of the All-Star Team.   Shelby Megyeri (2017) from the 17U Black team and Sanee Cates (2019) from the 15U Silver Team.

Now the team is moving on and headed to Nashville for the Battle of the Boro tournament July 10-12.
