Led by the 6’4″ Emsbo twins, Lakewood aims to raise the program bar again this winter amid offseason adversity

Coach Chris Poisson has led Lakewood girls basketball to four consecutive seasons of 20 wins or more, but knows this year’s going to be a completely new challenge.

First, the No. 3 Tigers (2-2) need to replace a graduated senior class that featured the likes of Mackenzie Forrest and McKenna Bishop—players who were crucial in leading Lakewood to three straight Great 8 showings.

The 6’4″ junior tandem of Camilla and Kira Emsbo, voted team captains this year, will be instrumental in making up for that lost production.

“They keep getting better and evolving their game, and I want them to have a breakout year, of course, and I think they’re poised to,” Poisson said. “But they need help from their teammates, too, in order for that to happen.”
