Triple Crown Sports officials announced Thursday an agreement to partner with Boulder Rockies Basketball, a prominent Colorado basketball club developing female leaders through the sport since 1987, and the 2015 USJN/Nike National Champions.

“Our partnership with the Rockies will give athletes along the Front Range and southern Wyoming a powerful resource to better learn and thrive in the sport of basketball,” said Renee Carlson, TCS director of basketball.

Beginning in the spring of 2016, the TC Rockies travel team will compete under the Boulder Rockies Basketball banner and add to the arsenal of talent in the program, which has a nearly 30-year history in girls basketball and is one of the most respected clubs to compete nationally. Triple Crown’s own decades-long history of operating in the youth event business means athletes will get experienced insight in key areas such as college recruiting, coaching philosophy, tournament scheduling, and much more.

Triple Crown Sports and Boulders Rockies Basketball have also made a commitment to develop girls basketball in Northern Colorado starting at the middle school level. Currently, Rockies Basketball has five teams, ages 13 through 17. The organization is dedicated to developing girls as both players and students, and extends well beyond the Denver Metro area, as it operates a shuttle service to make it possible for players up and down the Front Range to attend practices.

“We are excited to partner with Triple Crown Sports in the common purpose of developing leaders through basketball,” said Boulder Rockies president Johnnie Bratton. “Through the proper development and exposure to college coaches, the Boulder Rockies have assisted in the placement of more than 200 of Colorado’s finest in some of the best institutions in the country.  Our leadership staff looks forward to meeting the parents of our future leaders.”

Tryouts for all Rockies teams will be March 12-13.
